Do you have to be extremely thin to be a dramatic?

Absolutely not!

And there’s no better example to use than Queen Latifah herself.

Disclaimer: Queen Latifah is not verified by Kibbe, so this is my personal opinion.

Dramatics are the sharpest, longest, most angular of the image IDs.

They look their best in clothes that mirror that angularity and sharpness in their bodies.

Queen Latifah is 5’ 10”, so she is limited to one of three types: dramatic, soft dramatic, or flamboyant natural.

Soft dramatics need to accommodate for curve + vertical and would shine in a silhouette like this.

Flamboyant naturals need to accommodate for width + vertical and would shine in a silhouette like this.

Dramatics need to accommodate for vertical only and shine in silhouettes like this.

Queen Latifah, looks incredible with angular, straight lines.

She doesn’t need to accommodate for curves for her to shine.

Having curves doesn’t mean you need to accommodate for them.

In fact, she looks much better in dresses or outfits that don’t have curve accommodation.

For example, this is a dress with curve accommodation.

The dress is a lightweight material that drapes around her body and we can see subtle waist definition.

But, it’s not her best look.

On the other hand, this dress is almost entirely angular and sleek.

And she looks incredible.

More often than not, we can see that draping, softness, ruffles, lace, and waist definition that look incredible on yin bodies just don’t do justice to Queen Latifah’s yang dominant body – like this dress,

and this one.

On the other hand, angularity, sleekness, thicker fabrics, and monochromatic looks with long vertical lines look incredible on her.

At this point you might be asking “how can I see angularity if I have curves?”

It’s important to remember that sharpness is seen in bone structure. For example, if you look at Queen Latifah’s shoulder, there is almost no visual softness or roundedness the way there is on Adele’s shoulder (a soft dramatic).

If you look at their faces, Queen Latifah’s face is more taut, sharp, and almost “cat-like” compared to Adele’s.

Sharpness can also be seen in the elbows and ankles.

And finally, dramatics have long bones, and therefore, look long.
